1. Could we have a potential iPhone 5 release? Its looking like the newest addition to the iPhone family may not be in the hands of any Apple-enthusiasts until late 2011 or early 2012. If these rumors are true, will the turn out of camped-out customers be as great as if it was released in the summer? One wonders. [HuffPost]

2. Want some Royal Wedding hysteria on the go? There’s an app for that! Several news sites and gossip mags are launching iPhone apps for the Royal Wedding. BBC Worldwide’s app offers free access to breaking nuptial news, wedding tips, a daily delivery of facts about the couple and the royal family, and a personal wedding planner. For $1.99, iTunes users can download the countdown clock, daily wedding facts, and “The Wedding March,” or other royal-themed music as the sound of their phone alarm clock. [Atlantic]

7. We could only hope that Rebecca Black was a fake couldn’t we? New Zealand’s Stuff, made an announcement that Rebecca Black, the song and nonsense regarding her were fake and all part of a larger project. Unfortunately she’s real…

According to Stuff, an article surfaced today on the web suggesting that Black’s hit single “Friday” was in fact a viral marketing campaign for an upcoming Universal Studios family movie, The Music Factory, featuring a fictional character named Rebecca Black played by an actress named Jessica Jones. The story, per Australia’s News Online, also stated that the movie would be directed by Home Alone‘s Chris Columbus and that it would be about “a secret facility where cyborgs resembling young teenagers are created and turned into pop stars.” The story, which got picked up on several social networks including Twitter, appeared as if it had been published on Stuff’s website even though it didn’t share Stuff’s URL. The mock article appears to have been taken down.
